Now that all commercial airlines have temporarily suspended passenger flights, all flight attendants are safe at home. Driven by their job, airline cabin crew members are used to seeing different places and countries almost daily or every week. Staying at home for about a month can be kind of boring, but they have no choice but to comply with the rules set by each individual government.
At the beginning of March, governments around the world ordered a community isolation to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (CoviD-19). This also includes travel restrictions to and from the affected areas, forcing airlines to suspend passenger operations due to reduced demand for air travel.
Everyone was forced to stay at home unless travel was deemed necessary and important.
So we asked ourselves, how are these flight attendants spending their quarantine period? We asked a few of them to share with us what they're doing to make the most of this rest period, as we're sure that once airlines resume operations, their schedules will be extremely busy. Some said they read books, most cook, some work extra from home and some exercise.
Here is how different flight attendants from Romania spend their time in isolation at home.
"Since I've been on vacation, because the schools are closed, I've spent the whole time with my family. We dedicate most of our time to the children, we have school every day, projects, we read, listen to music, dance, exercise, watch movies, cook, go out twice a week, to the kindergarten of the block, where we play, give food to doves. We have learned to value life and liberty. I miss the plane, I miss putting on the uniform, getting ready for the flight, seeing my colleagues again and seeing the Earth from above, being able to say again: "We are ready to take off!"
